So I’ve had breakfast a couple times in the last week (that may sound like a strange statement to those of you who ALWAYS eat breakfast…) and I have to admit, it does make a difference. For that reason, I’m starting Project Breakfast. The project wherein I try to eat breakfast. Haha.
But seriously, I’m on day 2 (mockers, mock on! :P ) and I’m aiming at 30 days of eating breakfast (in a row). I won’t stop after that necessarily, but 30 sounds pretty attainable to me.
Here’s what I ate on days 1 and 2:
Day 1: plain croissant, raspberries
Day 2: plain croissant, orange juice.
I’m a little hesitant to share this since I know I’m not very dedicated when it comes to these things, but maybe this will keep me a little bit accountable haha. I tried to make a smoothie the other week but it was too banana-y and sour so I basically gave up immediately. What kinds of fruit do you recommend to put in a smoothie?
The only thing about smoothies is that the blender is sooo loud in the morning. I’d rather go hungry than hear it…
Am I the only person in the world who has a hard time eating breakfast? If you eat the same thing every day for breakfast, please tell me how you avoid getting sick of it.That’s my biggest problem…
So anyway, here goes Project Breakfast. And if I master this one, maybe I’ll consider “Project more than a banana Lunch” (because I’ve been told that apparently that’s not good enough??)
The sweeter the fuit, the sweeter your smoothie. The trick is to make sure the fruit is ripe when you use it. Mangos, for example, are sweet only when completely ripe. The same goes for pineapple.
I basically eat the same thing for breakfast every day and I don’t get sick of it cuz I just put different things on my toast. So that’s what I have: 2 pieces of toast and a mug of tea. According to Mary Hunt if you are able to do something for 21 days then it becomes a habit! So hang in there
hmmm well i eat breaky every day, but i go through phases as to what i eat. right now, i’m in a bowl of multigrain cheerios every morning phase. I used to eat fruit smoothies, but as you found, it’s too loud! and too much effort. Sometimes I’ll switch it up with two eggs (boiled or scrambled), or two slices of bread. But as to why I don’t get sick of the same cereal every morning? I’m a creature of habit. I thrive on it :) Oh, and sometimes I will have yoghurt with granola.
I generally eat either pancakes or cereal every morning, but i like to switch up the cereal on a regular basis. As for smoothies i generally guest-imate with the ingredients, but this is approximately what i use: a cup or so of chocolate ice cream (if no chocolate ice cream i use hot chocolate powder with vanilla ice cream), about a cup of milk, half a banana, a cup or so of mixed berries (you can buy a big bag of frozen ones from food basics i think, and they’ll last you a while), a little bit of vanilla extract (probably 1/2 – 1 tsp) and a good size dollop of honey. be creative, everyone of mine tastes a little different. :P
I really like this idea! It will be good for you :) Strawberry banana smoothies are the best. Just use a banana, a handful of strawberries, yogurt, and lots of ice cubes. Taste it before you pour it into a glass and if it’s too bananay just add more strawberries. Or you can just be like me and eat a granola bar. remember i always always ate it on the bus in the morning? haha
I am not a fan of eating breakfast either, but i too was told how bad it was to skip breakfast blah blah blah….so now i eat breakfast everyday except saturdays! The key to my success at making and keeping a daily breakfast eating habit? eat only what you love!!! I rarely eat “normal” breakfast foods b/c i dont enjoy them. I dont eat cereal or toast or bacon or drink orange juice….all nasty to me! It’s more like chicken soup for breakfast!!!! mmmmmmm:) or how about steamed asparagus and rice? Yes please!! or one of my favs(esther you’ll luv this one) pickles and crackers!!!!!! I know they arent really considered breakfast foods but i now look forward to breakfast in the morning…..bring on the 7am pickles!
I just finished my breakfast – coffee! I never have liked to eat until I’m up and about for an hour. On Saturdays, we often go out for breakfast, and I order 2 eggs, and nibble from my husband’s full platter. I have a smoothie cookbook that you may borrow if you’d like to.
